I’m a political strategist and recovering campaign staffer who recently served as the executive director of the Cape Fear Business Alliance and as the campaign manager/spokesperson for Congressman Mark Walker’s gubernatorial bid. As a general consultant, I worked on over thirty campaigns, ranging from school boards to Congress, and have experience in non-profit fundraising and advocacy. I’m a passionate advocate for small businesses. I have served on several boards, including the New Hanover County Board of Adjustment, Wilmington Virtuosi Brass Board, and the Campbell University Alumni Board. While I currently reside in the Washington, DC area, I will always call Wilmington, NC, home.
Outside of work, I am a history and political wonk. I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, trying new food, and am always willing to try everything once. I’m proud to admit that I have successfully failed in every aspect of my life, from business to politics, relationships, finances, and everything in between. I firmly believe we should fail early and often.
Why call this site Rogue Pilgrim? Because, as a dedicated conservative Christian, I still question the status quo. My faith is a rocky climb, not a smooth road. So, as I figure everything out, I want to share my thoughts with you. Hopefully, you will learn something, and hopefully I will become a better writer.
I don’t know where this journey will take us, but I know that we’ll end up exactly where we’re meant to go. Perhaps, this rogue pilgrim finds a little grace along the way.
